About Shannon Britten

With more than 25 years in policing — including nearly a decade at the Western Australia Police Academy — Shannon has trained recruits in investigative interviewing, conversation management, and effective communication, guiding new squads through some of the toughest moments of their careers. She has led high-stakes interviews, taught critical questioning and listening techniques, and mentored hundreds of recruits on how to stay composed and fair when the pressure is on.

Shannon’s experience reaches beyond law enforcement. She has worked across leadership, training, and community settings, where communication can be the difference between progress and breakdown. From workplaces navigating tough discussions, to schools partnering with families, to teams resolving conflict under pressure, Shannon has seen how powerful — and fragile — dialogue can be.

That dual perspective — as both a career police officer and a parent managing real-world challenges — gives her a rare insight into what it feels like on both sides of the conversation.
